Tras décadas en las que el recinto militar permaneció en gran medida inaccesible, su transformación ha reconectado distintas partes de la ciudad, ha incorporado nuevos parques y calles y ha devuelto una importante extensión de suelo a la vida cotidiana de este sector urbano (Burgos Conecta, 2024). En términos estrictamente urbanísticos, la operación puede entenderse como un acto de reparación. Sin embargo, la historia del lugar encierra una interesante ironía. Speaker biography: Giovanna Tomaro
Giovanna is an English, French and Russian into Italian translator based in London. She has 19 years’ experience as a freelance translator and editor with specialist knowledge in the areas of law, marketing and human rights. She has also taught as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Westminster (MA Translation and Diploma in Translation) and is currently a Language Checker and Project Assistant at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
