If you want to talk or write about a place of your choice, read first. Pay attention to the language used, observe how words are connected, what verbs are relevant and, basically, try to understand what you have as a possible model for your own communicative purpose. Learn from it, and use it as a first stepping stone into developing your writing skills in Spanish. This task of communicating about a particular topic will make your learning about grammar and vocabulary far more meaningful and contextualized. Grammar and vocabulary are just tools that should help you to understand and transmit information.
